Inspiring women of color to find holistic health, radical self-expression, and an abundance of self-love.

The mission:

Hi, my name is Dakotta <3 I'm 26, a devoted wife, and proud toddler mom. I am originally from the Midwest, but currently live out west, embracing the adventure of life in new surroundings.

Motherhood has been a transformative journey for me, one that has deeply enriched my life. However, it hasn't come without its challenges. I have battled anxiety, both before and after birth, and even navigated the dark waters of postpartum depression. Through an abundance of self-care rituals, I found my way out and discovered a profound love for holistic health, wellness, and nutrition along the way.

This newfound passion has set me on a path to do amazing things, including plans to expand my knowledge and become a holistic health coach. I have embraced yoga and Pilates on my journey, which have become essential parts of my routine. Last year was a pivotal time of reflection and growth for me. I reconnected with myself, found grounding in motherhood, regained lost skills, and acquired new ones as i evolved, all of which helped me to clarify my life's purpose.

I founded The Holistic Mlf Society to express myself and share my journey through motherhood and life's ups and downs. I wanted to create a space to celebrate the beauty of wild motherhood experiences, cultivate a community of free-flowing black girls, and create a stronger space for us in the holistic health world.

The name "The Holistic Mlf Society" is a salute to my own evolution. Motherhood has gifted me a radiance and a confidence that's brand new to me, and I'm embracing every bit of it.

With The Holistic Mlf Society, I'm excited to delve into all sorts of topics around motherhood, holistic health and healing, and embracing who we are. Can't wait to share this journey with you!

About Dakotta: The Creator

Holistic health, homesteading, living slow, homeschooling our children, letting our children express themselves, nontoxic living, eating nourishing foods, and creating space for healing and self-discovery, are not common practices that we see within our community. My hope for The Holistic Mlf Society is to challenge that narrative and open the conversation up to allow more women of color to find freedom in this way of living.
